After careful review, the UCEA Planning Committee has elected to extend the deadline for the 2017 proposal submissions to Tuesday, May 9th at 11:59 PM EST. This is an extension of 24 hours. UCEA recognizes the challenges that an April/May submission period presents to some faculty and graduate students, and we hope that having a little extra time will provide a modicum of relief.
The Call for Proposals, which outlines the Convention theme and provides proposal guidelines, is released each year in January. This allows roughly four months of proposal preparation and writing before All Academic opens for proposal submission in April. The submission window is open for approximately a month every year before closing in May. Once we close, the reviewers are given their assignments to complete by the first week in June (approximately 3 weeks).
This timeline is the crux upon which many other Convention logistics are dependent. Moving one part will affect others, and many stakeholders rely on UCEA to provide convention program decisions by August so that they can manage their own calendars. UCEA appreciates your understanding. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 434-243-1041.
We look forward to receiving your proposals and look forward to seeing you at the convention in November!
