Dr. Barbara Jenkins has been dedicated to serving the needs of students for over 30 years. She was named superintendent for Orange County Public Schools in 2012. Under Dr. Jenkins’ leadership, the district won the prestigious 2014 Broad Prize for Urban Education.

Ed Graff, Minneapolis Public Schools, Minnesota

Ed Graff is the Superintendent of Minneapolis Public Schools.  Previously he served as the superintendent of the Anchorage School District, one of the nation’s 100 largest school districts. Mr. Graff is dedicated to doing what is best for all students collectively while still meeting the needs of each individual.

Dr. Rick Lopez, Garland ISD, Texas

Leading Garland ISD since January of 2018, Dr. Ricardo López is the 10th superintendent in the district’s more than 100-year history.  López is widely recognized for his proven success in closing achievement gaps for all learners, including implementing the Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) model at two Garland ISD campuses to turn around performance and provide added support for students most in need.

Dr. Janice Jackson is a Senior Fellow whose work at Carnegie focuses on equity issues, such as improving high school and college attainment nationwide and ensuring that African American, Latinx, and Indigenous students receive exemplary education and social and emotional support. She is the former CEO of Chicago Public Schools (CPS).

Richard Milner IV (also known as Rich) is Cornelius Vanderbilt Distinguished Professor of Education and Professor of Education in the Department of Teaching and Learning at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. His research, teaching and policy interests concern urban education, teacher education, African American literature, and the social context of education.
