UCEA 2022 COVID-19 FAQs

For the 2022 Convention, UCEA has partnered with CLEAR to manage pre-event verification of COVID-19 health information. UCEA HQ will manage on-site CLEAR Health Pass check-ins and safety protocols management. For more COVID-related Convention information, please visit our COVID-19 Protocols page.

What safety protocols will be in place for all sessions?

  • Vaccinations or negative COVID-19 test for all attendees
  • Entry verification for all attendees through CLEAR Health Pass

What are the vaccination requirements?

All in-person attendees are required to submit verification of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours PRIOR TO ARRIVAL in Seattle. Tests must be administered by a clinical provider.

Which vaccines are accepted?

All vaccines approved by the CDC and the WHO are acceptable.

What types of COVID-19 test results are acceptable?

We accept three types of negative COVID-19 test results:

  • Negative rapid antigen test
  • Negative PCR test
  • Negative NAAT test

Tests must be administered 72 hours before travel to Seattle and must be administered by a clinical provider. At-home rapid test results are not accepted.

How can I submit my vaccination verification or negative test results?

UCEA 2022 attendees have two options to submit their verification information:

1.  UCEA has partnered with CLEAR to utilize the Health Pass feature, to provide easy proof of COVID-related health insights for faster entry. To get started, download the CLEAR app, enter the code UCEA22, and enroll for free. A smartphone is required to register for CLEAR Health Pass.

Please note: Some international attendees may not be able to verify their vaccination information through CLEAR.

 2. For those who cannot or do not wish to verify their information through the CLEAR app, UCEA will provide a manual verification process available at the Registration Desk. Please be prepared to present your vaccination card or proof of a negative test.

How will I know that my vaccination has been verified in the CLEAR App?

Once you complete your Health Pass registration, you will see a green Health Pass screen on your smartphone. For more detailed information, visit our CLEAR Directions page.

Who has access to my health information in the CLEAR App?

CLEAR specializes in verifying and securing vaccine information. You can read more details about this in CLEAR’s Privacy Policy here. UCEA personnel will not have access to any personal health information submitted to CLEAR Health Pass other than who has been verified.

What will happen at registration this year?

Registration is located on Level 3 in the Foyer near the escalators by the Columbia Ballroom. Before you arrive, reopen the Health Pass tile in the CLEAR App and open your Health Pass. Be ready to present to staff for faster entry. Once there, proceed to the Convention Registration Desk. UCEA staff will check your green Health Pass and then proceed with your general Convention check-in.

If you do not have CLEAR Health Pass, you will be directed to the manual verification desk. A UCEA HQ staff member will check your vaccination card or proof of a negative COVID test. Please have these documents ready to present.

What are the Registration Desk Hours?

Wed. Nov. 16 11:00 am–5:00 pm

Thurs. Nov. 17 7:30 am–5:30 pm

Fri. Nov. 18 7:30 am–3:00 pm

How do I let people know my comfort level with personal contact?

UCEA22 will feature a colored wristband system to clearly indicate people’s personal preferences for physical contact.

  • Green means “please hug,” or comfortable with lots of contact.
  • Yellow means “fist-bump,” or comfortable with medium distancing.
  • Red means “my space,” or trying to maintain as much distance as possible.
