Corwin Press, A Sage Publications Co.
Corwin Press was established in 1990 as an affiliate of SAGE Publications to provide solutions for those serving the field of K-12 education. Since that time, we have continued to publish along a practice-oriented continuum, ranging from very practical, experiential-based manuals to more reflective or research-based books. Our extensive booklist targets school principals, administrators, specialists, teachers, and other educational practitioners at one end of the continuum, to teacher educators and advanced-level students at the other.

Our mission is to offer practical, hands-on resources to help education professionals do their work better—and, in the process, help advance the field and improve education for all learners. At Corwin Press, we are responsive to the needs of our readers, the constructive criticism of our reviewers, and the preferences of our authors.

Rethinking Schools
Rethinking Schools began as a local effort to address problems such as basal readers, standardized testing, and textbook-dominated curriculum. Since its founding in 1986, it has grown into a nationally prominent publisher of educational materials, with subscribers in all 50 states, all 10 Canadian provinces, and many other countries.

While the scope and influence of Rethinking Schools has changed, its basic orientation has not. Most importantly, it remains firmly committed to equity and to the vision that public education is central to the creation of a humane, caring, multiracial democracy. While writing for a broad audience, Rethinking Schools emphasizes problems facing urban schools, particularly issues of race.

Throughout its history, Rethinking Schools has tried to balance classroom practice and educational theory. It is an activist publication, with articles written by and for teachers, parents, and students. Yet it also addresses key policy issues, such as vouchers and marketplace-oriented reforms, funding equity, and school-to-work.

Information Age Publishing, Inc.
Founded in 1999 by George F. Johnson, IAP is a social science publisher of academic and scholarly book series and journals. Although IAP is new to the publishing arena, publishing is not new to its founder. With companies such as JAI Press, Greenwood Publishing, Ablex Publishing and Academic Press being a part of his family heritage, it is only natural for yet another generation to build a publishing house.

IAP's goal is to develop a comprehensive list of book series and journals that break down and define specific niches that lack high-level research material in the fields of Education and Management. Our products will be offered in both print and electronic formats where possible. We at IAP hope to have you become a part of a new era in publishing as we grow.
