UCEA GSC Putting Research into Action Call for Recognition

The UCEA Graduate Student Council would like to honor and recognize outstanding graduate students and emerging leaders. This recognition highlights the work of a UCEA graduate student who is committed to advancing equitable leadership (broadly defined) for the benefit of schools and children. We want to recognize a graduate student who expresses the ideal of professional excellence grounded in equitable theory, research, and practice. The UCEA Graduate Student Council will announce the recipient during the closing session of the 2019 Graduate Student Summit in New Orleans.

We encourage nominations of candidates who attend a UCEA member institution. Nominations may come from faculty and advanced graduate students; self-nominations are also accepted.

Nominations should include electronic copies of the following:

  • the candidate’s curriculum vitae
  • a cover letter of no more than two pages addressing the contributions of the nominee relative to one or more of the selection criteria;
  • support letters from those who have been directly involved in the research project, led by the nominee, and/or individuals who can attest to the nominee’s leadership/scholarly strengths
    A UCEA committee appointed by the Graduate Student Council will review and evaluate the nominees. Evaluations will be based on the quality and originality of the candidate’s efforts to create a lasting impact on school leadership. The committee will reserve the right to present this award to multiple candidates on any given year, or conversely, not to present this award should nominees not fully meet the selection criteria.

The deadline for nominations is Monday, September 16, 2019. Please email electronic copies of all nomination materials to uceagradconnex@gmail.com with the title of the recognition in the subject line.

If you have any questions please contact us at uceagradconnex@gmail.com. Thank you for your consideration of this call.
