Gary Crow Gary Crow is professor and chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy at Florida State University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and has taught at Bank Street College (NYC) and Louisiana State University, and University of Utah. His research interests include principal socialization, leadership, and school reform. He is currently conducting comparative research on the socialization of new school administrators in England and the US. His articles have appeared in Educational Administration Quarterly, Journal of School Leadership, Journal of Educational Administration, and American Educational Research Journal. His books include Leadership: A Realistic and Relevant Role for Principals and Finding One's Way: How Mentoring Can Lead to Dynamic Leadership (both co-authored with Joseph Matthews). He is currently completing a textbook on the principalship (with J. Matthews). He has been involved with UCEA for over ten years, serving as PSR at both LSU and Utah. He is also editor of the UCEA Journal of Cases in Educational Leadership.
