UCEA Post-Doctoral Research Associate
Educational Administration Department
Michigan State University

The University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA), partnered with the Educational Administration Department at the Michigan State University College of Education, seeks applicants for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to train with the UCEA leadership team. The incumbent supports UCEA’s research on leadership pedagogy and practice, program design and evaluation, new project development, and special events management (i.e., Annual Convention, Clark Seminar). In addition, the successful candidate trains under the direction of Dr. Mónica Byrne-Jiménez, Executive Director of UCEA. This is a two-year appointment with possible renewal for a third year, depending upon satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.

The following qualifications are required:

  • A doctoral degree in Educational Leadership or related field by June 1, 2021
  • Research focused on educational leadership, leadership development, and/or adult learning
  • Data organization and analysis skills (Qualtrics, NVivo; SPSS, STATA, Mplus, or R)
  • Strong qualitative or quantitative research skills
  • Ability to lead teams comprised of students and faculty
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word) and other internet-based tools

The qualifications below are preferred:

  • Experience with higher education principal preparation programs
  • Knowledge of leadership for/with diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or international contexts
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills
  • Program evaluation experience and/or skills
