Purpose/Vision

Educational Administration Quarterly (EAQ) publishes prominent empirical and conceptual articles focused on timely and critical leadership and policy issues of educational organizations. The journal embraces traditional and emergent research paradigms, methods, and issues. The journal particularly promotes the publication of rigorous and relevant scholarly work that enhances linkages among and utility for educational policy, practice, and research arenas.

Dear UCEA and Friends,

We are thrilled to announce the new co-editors for the Educational Administration Quarterly (EAQ), UCEA's premier journal known for its rigorous research and enduring contributions to the field, beginning August 1. Drs. Judy Alston and Érica Fernández, Professors at Miami University, have laid out a clear vision for the journal that maintains its strong tradition of research excellence while expanding the edges of theory, methodology, and geography.

Building on the journal’s proud tradition of scholarly excellence, the incoming editorial team brings a bold and inclusive vision—one that embraces the complexity of leadership across diverse educational contexts. With a commitment to advancing global dialogue, promoting equity, and amplifying a wide range of voices, the new team will continue to position EAQ at the forefront of the field.

We deeply appreciate outgoing Editor-In-Chief Gerardo López and the team at MSU for their leadership over the past several years.

We look forward to the continued growth and evolution of the journal under Drs. Alston and Férnandez and invite scholars and practitioners alike to join me in welcoming them.

Future Efforts

The EAQ internal team is discussing how to reach a broader international audience, and are actively expanding outreach/impact and connections with colleagues and international associations abroad.
The EAQ internal team is also in the process of developing content (videos, info sheets, etc) that provide pointers, tips, and advice for prospective international authors. Content will be promoted via our social media accounts as well as our dedicated EAQ webpage.
